The VW3A7802 is a braking resistor manufactured by Schneider Electric. It is designed to be used in various applications that require braking or energy dissipation in motor control systems.
The braking resistor has a resistance of 60 Ξ©, which allows it to effectively absorb and dissipate energy generated during motor braking. This helps in preventing damage to the motor or the control system by safely dissipating the excess energy as heat.
The VW3A7802 is available in two different levels of protection, IP20 and IP23. The IP20 rating means that the resistor is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm in diameter, such as fingers or tools, but does not provide protection against water. On the other hand, the IP23 rating ensures that the resistor is also protected against water spray up to 60 degrees from vertical. This makes the IP23-rated resistor suitable for applications where there is a risk of water spray, such as in outdoor or industrial environments.
With a power rating of 5.6 kW, the VW3A7802 is capable of handling high power dissipation without overheating.
