Westermo offers two different models of rugged industrial radio modems: the RM-80 and the RM-232/485. The RM-80 is a short-range modem operating at 869MHz, while the RM-232/485 operates at the same frequency but with the added advantage of supporting RS-232 and RS-485 protocols. Both modems are designed to withstand harsh industrial environments and provide reliable wireless communication.
The RM-80 is a high-performance radio modem with a power output of 500mW. It is specifically designed for short-range applications and can achieve a maximum operating range of up to 500 meters. This makes it ideal for industrial automation, remote monitoring, and control systems that require a reliable wireless connection within a limited range.
On the other hand, the RM-232/485 offers the same features as the RM-80 but with the added capability to support serial communication protocols such as RS-232 and RS-485.
