The GE Fanuc IC200ALG630 is a thermocouple module that is designed for use in industrial applications. It operates on a 5 V dc power supply and has a nominal current consumption of 125 mA. The module is equipped with 16 input channels, allowing for the measurement of temperature using thermocouples.
Thermocouples are temperature sensors that work by measuring the voltage difference between two dissimilar metal wires. This voltage is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the two ends of the thermocouple. The IC200ALG630 module is able to interface with a variety of thermocouple types, including J, K, R, S, T, E, B, and N thermocouples.
The module features a built-in cold junction compensation circuit, which ensures accuracy in temperature measurements by accounting for the temperature of the terminal block where the thermocouple wires are connected. It also includes a software-selectable fault detection feature, which allows for the detection of open thermocouple or wire burnout conditions.
The IC200ALG630 module is compatible with the GE Fanuc VersaMax and Series 90-30 PLC systems.
