The Square D SY/MAX 8030-CRM-222 is a remote I/O interface module from the Class 8030 family, used to locate digital and register I/O racks away from the processor.
It lets a SY/MAX system place I/O racks (drops) remotely and communicate with them serially back to the processor, which saves wiring on machines where sensors and actuators are spread out. The module is mounted in the remote rack and handles the serial link, with front indicator lights giving a quick view of run state and fault conditions.
