Siemens offers the 6GK1161-6AA00 Communication Processor CP 1616 PCI-Card as a reliable solution for connecting to PROFINET IO networks. This communication processor is equipped with a 32-bit architecture and operates at either 33 or 66 MHz. It can be powered by either 3.3 or 5 Volts.
One of the main features of the CP 1616 is the integration of an ASIC ERTEC 400. This advanced system-on-chip enables efficient and high-performance communication with PROFINET IO devices. It ensures reliable data transfer and supports fast cycle times, making it suitable for real-time applications.
To facilitate the connection to PROFINET IO networks, the CP 1616 comes with a 4-port real-time switch. These ports use RJ45 connectors to enable easy and secure integration with other devices. Additionally, Siemens provides the DK-16XX PN IO development kit, which further simplifies the installation and configuration process.
